Alerts

Alerts send you an email or a Slack message when AI answers about you change. Each rule sends one kind of change to one channel.

Alert Types#

AlertSends when
Dropped OutYou drop out of an answer that mentioned you before.
Competitor EnteredA competitor appears in an answer it was missing from.
Negative SentimentAn answer describes your brand negatively.
Wrong FactAn answer states something about you that contradicts your key facts.
Visibility DropYour overall visibility falls by at least the threshold between checks.
Product IssueAn answer shows a wrong price, or recommends an out-of-stock or discontinued product. Online stores only.

TDC Signal compares each answer with the previous answer to the same question, on the same engine and in the same location. Visibility Drop compares your overall visibility with the previous check. Alerts go out when a check finishes.

Add an Alert Rule#

Owners and admins can add rules. Other members can view them.

  1. 1

    Open Alerts

Select Alerts in the app sidebar, then select Add Rule.

  2. 2

    Pick what to watch

Choose a type under Alert when. For Visibility Drop, set Threshold in percentage points. With 10, a fall from 42% to 31% sends an alert.

  3. 3

    Pick the channel

Under Send to, choose Email or Slack, then enter the addresses or webhook URL.

  4. 4

    Save

Leave Active on and select Add Rule.

A workspace can have up to 25 rules.

Email#

Enter up to 10 addresses in Email addresses, separated with commas. Each address gets its own email with a View Details button.

Slack#

  1. In Slack, create an incoming webhook for the channel you want.
  2. Copy its URL. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/.
  3. Paste it into Slack webhook URL.

TDC Signal hides a saved webhook URL. To keep it when you edit the rule, leave the field empty.

Send a Test#

Open the menu on a rule and select Send Test. The test confirms that alerts reach the channel. You can send one test per rule every 10 minutes.

Manage Rules#

Use the menu on each rule to Edit, Send Test or Delete it. Turn the Active switch off to pause a rule without deleting it. Last Fired shows when the rule last sent an alert.

Alert History#

History lists every change the checks found, whether a rule sent it or not. Filter it by type, and select View Answer to read the answer behind an alert.

The Delivery column shows "Sent to 1 rule" when an alert went out. It shows Not sent when no active rule matched or delivery failed.

When one check finds more than 5 changes of the same type for a rule, you get one summary message instead of many.

Your 5 latest alerts also appear on Overview under Recent Alerts.
